Technique Tip: Kettlebell Deadlift Start Position
When performing Kettlebell Deadlifts, getting set up in the proper starting position is crucial to performing the exercise correctly and reducing your risk for inury.
A common mistake that is often made with kettlebell deadlifts is starting the exercise with your back in a rounded position. In order to reduce the amount of stress that is put on your back, make sure to flatten your back, so that your butt, upper back and head are in a straight line.
A simple way to test for this to make sure that you are in the correct position is to take a dowel rod or plastic piece of pipe and place it on your back. If you have all 3 points of contact, you are good to go!
Remember to brace your abs before performing the first repetition!!
